Over 200 varieties of locally collected wild mushrooms will be on display throughout the two-day festival! Experts will be on hand to help with identification. Festival goers are encouraged to bring in their own mushroom specimens and get them identified.
Vendors will be selling all manner of fungi-related products in the main hall, including fresh edible mushrooms. There will be gourmet mushroom dishes for sale to tempt your taste buds and local micro-brews...including a porcini mushroom brew!
Regional experts, along with knowledgeable members of the Wild Rivers Mushroom Club, will be leading mushroom ID hikes both days. We try to schedule as many hikes as possible (we managed to conduct 12 in 2019!) and groups are kept small so that everyone will have a chance to learn. A small fee is charged for each hike.
Local, regional and national mushroom experts will conduct a variety of hands-on workshops, tickets for which will go on sale through this website starting in September1. There will be workshops and presentations on growing, harvesting, cooking with, eating, identifying and using both wild and cultivated mushrooms.
The Wild Rivers Mushroom Festival logo was designed by club member Richard Wickstrom.
Sorry to do this for the second year in a row, but the Covid pandemic just won't let go of our region yet.
We'll try again next year, so please mark your calendars for the 2022 Festival - Nov. 5-6, 2022 - and check back with us next Spring. Thanks!
