Jill Nussinow has been a Northern California mushroom forager for more than 20 years. She learned to forage for mushrooms with SOMA Mycology in the forests of Salt Point. She now owns 10 acres in southern Mendocino where she is often astounded by the variety of mushrooms she finds on the land. She also forages on private property in nearby Sea Ranch.
Jill loves “forest bathing" as much as finding and discovering fungi, with a focus on edible mushrooms. She often goes out with a small group of “fun-guys” so she is the "fun-gal". She loves most things about the journey but most of all the eating.
Jill is a Registered Dietitian, cookbook author and culinary educator who taught for 30 years at Santa Rosa Junior College. Jill has spoken about mushrooms at a wide variety of venues in the US and in Tecate, Mexico.
Jill loves simple food, Mother Nature, reading and teaching breath awareness and nutrition to groups, small and large.
